Ditch Those Love Handles By Following These Easy Tips

Take heed to lose those love handles

Love handles are those pesky annoying fat rolls that hanging off of your side that you just can’t get rid of. You try and try, but it seems that no matter what you do, they’re still there.

So is it all in vain? Not quite, so here are some options to help battle those love handles.

How To Eliminate Love Handles

1. No Processed Food

This is a must if you want to get rid of those love handles. Processed foods are sugary, filled with bad carbs, and are just plain fattening. Cutting these out is the first step in getting rid of love handles.

2. No Alcohol

Booze is filled with sugars and calories. If you are a regular drinker, chances are, cutting alcohol out will be enough to see a huge change in your battle against love handles.

Just imagine how many calories you consume on an average Saturday night diet of red bull and vodkas.

3. Keep The Carbs


Yes, you read that right. Don’t eliminate the carbs all together, keep healthy carbs like oats and sweet potatoes. Your body needs energy and it gets it from carbs.

If you deprive it of carbs, you won’t be doing yourself any favors. Your body has to have certain conditions met before it starts burning fat, so cutting out carbs is not the answer.

4. Drink Plenty of Water

Being hydrated is extremely important to your body. If your body is not getting enough water, it will even try to trick your brain that you are hungry.

Even if you are not hungry, it will send signals it that you are to your brain.

5. Eat Lots of Protein

Beef, tuna, chicken, egg whites, shrimp, and protein powders…the list goes on. The point is protein is great for building muscle and burning fat.

So stock up on protein-rich foods and you will see fat slowly start to go away

6. Eat Vegetables

Vegetables like spinach, kale, and broccoli are filled with minerals and proteins that help your body get rid of fat. Add them to your daily diet to feel fuller and eat less.

7. Sleep More

Regular sleep cycles put your body on a consistent schedule and it helps eliminate stress and promote weight loss.

So get that sleeping pattern down to a “T” and try getting at least six to seven hours of sleep per night.

8. Don’t Skip Meals

People tend to believe that if they skip a breakfast or dinner that somehow that will translate into weight loss.

If your body is used to getting food on a regular basis and suddenly you stop giving it food, the next time you feed your body; it will store it as fat because it won’t know when will you feed it again.

9. Eat Dark Chocolate

A recent study has shown that eating dark chocolate will indeed stimulate weight loss. Just a heads up, dark chocolate is very bitter and not as tasty as milk chocolate.

Sorry, eating milk chocolate will not give you the same effect.

Now that we have covered some things you have to do and eat in order to get rid of love handles, how about we cover some exercises that also do that?

1. Mountain Climbers

This is a high-intensity exercise that involves cardio and works your abs. Mountain climbers are one of the best things you can do to get rid of those annoying rolls.

Assume a push up position and start raising your knees towards your chest repeatedly as fast as you can.

2. Russian Twists

Russian twists are excellent for killing love handles because it works the obliques directly.

Sit in a crunch position, raise your legs slightly and tilt your back a bit. Now cross your palms one over the other and go from one side to another side for reps until exhaustion.

3. Knee Tuck Jump Burpees

Burpees often get mentioned when you talk about doing a workout without any equipment and rightfully so. They are a multi-element exercise that you can adjust to fit your overall fitness level. However, you will be adding an extra element to the end of the burpee; a jump squat.

Do a regular burpee as performed in the gif above and just as you are jumping up, bring your knees up to your chest. This isn’t exactly a beginner’s exercise, so if you think it’s out of your league, stick to regular burpees since they are effective as well.

4. High-Intensity Interval Training Cardio

HIIT cardio is a must when wanting to burn fat and lose the muffin top. Start running, find your tempo, and destroy that fat.
