The 9 Different Types Of Boobs And Celebs Who Have Them

Believe it or not, there are more ways to describe boobs than just “big” or “small.” Thanks to the lingerie company, ThirdLove, there are now nine distinct categories, which describe the variety of boobage that is out there. It’s called the “Breast Shape Dictionary,” and customers can use it to see where they fall on the boob spectrum.

Wait, so there’s more to it than just measurements? Yep, there sure is. Speaking as a slightly bell-shaped, rounded, side set-breasted woman, I will say that it does make things a little more complicated, but it’s also pretty cool. The purpose of having this “dictionary” of different breast types is helpful for lingerie shoppers who want to buy the right kind of bra for their girls!

Here Are The 9 Different Types Of Boobs And The Celebs Who Have Them:

1. Slender

Slender breasts are pretty thin, and the nipples are pointed downward. These breasts give push-up bras a reason to exist. However, Miley adorns her slender-shaped breasts with glitzy pasties.

2. East-West

I’d rather have East-West boobs than North-South ones. With this type, it’s not about the shape but the direction. Both nipples are pointed outward. Rihanna has this shape, and it’s pretty obvious that she has no problem showing them off pretty much anywhere.

3. Relaxed

If you have these breasts, you’re probably a really laid-back person. JK! I wish I had half the amount of chill as these lax-tissue breasts with their nipples facing downward. Look how natural and stunning Katie Holmes looks with them…

4. Athletic

Wider, more muscular breasts with less tissue. As fit chicks, we often rock these “flat” breasts. The more we lift, the more boobage lost. The lack of tissue = lack of fat tissue. I know, it just doesn’t seem fair. It’s the one of two places where society is okay with a little extra fat. But sometimes, that’s the price we pay to have abs. Be proud! Artist, Pink rocks her athletic bod and breasts flawlessly!

5. Round

Ah, the boobies everyone wants. If you have these girls, you probably have no issue rocking low-cut shirts. You can take more wardrobe risks because your cleavage is always on point. You are equally as round on the top as on the bottom. I’d make a fair assessment that Kate Upton probably has these.

6. Asymmetrical

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Is one boob noticeably smaller than the other? Asymmetrical boobs are pretty awesome. Reality star and model, Adrianne Curry rocked her asymmetrical breasts. Her former husband even told her, “Don’t worry, baby, it’s like being with two different women.”

7. Bell-Shaped

This type, usually heavier, is slimmer at the top and fuller at the bottom. I like to think of them as matronly because you have to have something there for it to sag just a bit. What can we say? We got it from our mommas. Halle Berry can sport styles like this because of her beautiful bell-shaped boobies.

8. Tear Drop

Again, they’re rounded but slightly less full at the top with a softer slope, but it’s still the same concept as bell-shaped. No need to cry about having these babies. Look how House of Cards actress, Kate Mara, shows off this plunge collar dress. Cleavage on point!!

9. Side Set

Because side set breasts have a wide space between them, wearing a push-up bra can help move them closer together. It might take you a little more effort to get nice cleavage, but you got what counts. Cameron Diaz always looks sexy, cleavage or not.

Now, as women, we know that the structure, size, and shape of our girls are not the only things that are important. Boobs change as we grow and as we become the badass women we are. Since puberty, breasts have been along for the ride with us, all the way to womanhood, and here are some of the ways you have experienced them or will in the future:

1. Prepubescent Breasts

This one has a special place in my heart or chest. I was the first girl to sprout breasts in 5th grade, but the months beforehand were anxiety-inducing. I wore little training bras, even though I didn’t need to, just to feel like a grown-up lady-person. When they actually came in, I tried to hide them from the pinching hands of my teasing aunts. *shudders*

2. Marathon Boobs!

OW! Even men go through this one but not to the same extent. Often, runners experience the horrifying nipple-bleeds if they forget to tape them before the race. Say goodbye to the t-shirt you ran in. Not only do they bleed, but for women, breasts get just as exhausted as our legs from all of the bouncing. This is when it’s nice to have a more athletic bust. (Hurrah for flat-chested glory).

3. Sex(y) Boobs

One thing that’s pretty hot during sex is what happens to your breasts. Because of your hormones, they can swell during intercourse and even become a more attractive color. They can also become more sensitive and perk up a little bit! Yay, sex(y) boobs!

4. Hairy Breasts

Breasts get hairy??? YES! About a third of women experience the small little pube-like hairs that grow around their nipples. It’s usually not very noticeable, but some guys get it too and a lot more of it. If it really bothers you, you can pluck it, but I doubt your partner will notice a few stray hairs when there is a naked woman in front of them.

5. Bodybuilding Boobs

This one is just for us: the fit chicks. Both a blessing and a curse, bodybuilding breasts are powerhouses of pectoral strength but are less fatty and not so voluptuous. However, the more you strengthen your pectoral muscle, the perkier they can get.
