The Mountain is six feet, nine inches of pure fright and terror of the entire Westeros kingdom. The terrifying character is played by the Icelandic Viking and strongman known as Hafthor Bjornsson.
He is the current Europe’s Strongest Man winner and a World’s Strongest Man runner-up. In order to maintain his superhuman strength and mass, Bjornsson has to eat a protein rich diet of 10,000 calories per day.
Youtuber Adam Moran Tries The Mountain’s Daily Diet
Seeing Bjornsson diet a normal man would go “holy sh*t, is he insane?!” but not, Youtuber Adam Moran also known as “Beard Meats Food”. He is a competitive eater, looked at that diet, and said “challenge accepted!”
Moran’s eating achievements include winning Yorkshire Pudding Eating World Championships and eating the most McDonald’s chicken nuggets in one sitting. As of 2016, he is serving a position as a food tester in an American-style diner chain in Yorkshire.
Fun fact for the road, the chain owner insured Moran’s taste buds and stomach for one million British pounds.

Before we get into the content of the video, it should really be worth noting that eating 10,000 calories worth of food at once is not a good idea. Competitive eaters are like real life X-Men mutants with weird superpowers.
They usually have super-fast metabolisms and enormous stomachs that allow them to become human vacuum cleaners. Google search “Tarrare” for an extreme example of someone who has a portal to another dimension instead of a digestive tract.
Now without further ado, here is our competitive eater, and famous YouTuber “Beard Eats Food” destroying The Mountain’s daily meal plan in one sitting.
Well of course he failed, did you see how much food that was? However the trick isn’t in the amount or in the caloric intake. Let’s take a quick look at Thor’s 1pm lunch:
- Chicken/Fish/Turkey/Lean beef (2 pounds)
- Oatmeal (1 cup)
- Brown Rice (1 cup)
- Vegetables, raw or cooked (1 bowl)
- 100% Whole grain bread (4 slices)/100% whole grain pasta
- Protein shake (1 scoop)
See something interesting that sticks out? That’s right, lean, green veggies and lots of healthy carbs like brown rice and oats. That stuff fills you out faster than any meat can.
That’s why it’s always suggested that you eat veggies because they fill your stomach. I’d bet that those veggies Thor eats are filled with fiber, which digests a lot slower than regular food-making this challenge a mission impossible.
Matt Stonie, American competitive eater, once drank an entire five pound tub of Muscle Pharm’s Arnold Mass Gainer which had 15,000 calories in less than 5 minutes.
However, when it came to chomping down Manny Pacquiao’s 7,000 calories a day diet, he looked like he was about to die. He put up a fight, but after an hour, with ample amount of food still left to eat, Stonie had to throw in the towel. Can you take a guess why that happened? Let’s take a quick look at Pac-Man’s meals.
That’s right, lots of fruits and lots of green veggies. Stonie’s black hole of a stomach couldn’t compete with the speed rate he was throwing all those foods in.
Same thing happened with the man behind the YouTube channel, Beard Eats Food. In a recent video he casually devoured 16,000 calories of Easter themed chocolates without even batting an eye.
But when faced with a meal challenge that included fruits, veggies, and fiber-rich carbs, his face was cluttered with expressions of agony, despair and some sort of spiritual awakening.
